• Professor Rui Cunha Marques took part in the 14th Brazilian Regulation Congress of ABAR, held from 26 to 28 November 2025, and spoke on the panels “Presentation of the Solid Waste Inspection Manual – Basic Sanitation Regulatory Agency of the State of Bahia (Agersa/BA)”, “Beyond the Network: Alternative Solutions to Bring Sanitation to Those Who Do Not Have It”, and “Governance and Regulatory Compliance: Guidelines of Benchmark Norm 04/2024”. In addition, his book The Reform of the Sanitation Sector in Brazil: Results and Challenges Five Years after the Enactment of Law 14.026/2020, co-authored with Carlos Roberto de Oliveira, was also presented
• The RPG team held a workshop on November 24 and 25 on the wastewater sanitation PPP for the State of Goiás.
• Prof. Rui Marques had the honor of delivering the keynote lecture at the Foro Iberoamericano de Regulación (FIAR) 2025 of ADERASA, held in Asunción on November 12–13, 2025. The presentation, “Panorama de la Regulación de Agua Potable y Saneamiento en Iberoamérica”, looked at where we stand today and where regulation needs to go next. Prof. Rui Marques also took part in a session entitled “Garantizar lo Esencial: Estándares y Mecanismos Regulatorios para la Calidad y Sostenibilidad del Servicio de Agua”, a presentation discussing the enabling conditions required to guarantee essential water services, both in terms of quality and long-term sustainability.
