Prof. Rui Marques had the honor of delivering the keynote lecture at the Foro Iberoamericano de Regulación (FIAR) 2025 of ADERASA, held in Asunción on November 12–13, 2025. The presentation, “Panorama de la Regulación de Agua Potable y Saneamiento en Iberoamérica”, looked at where we stand today and where regulation needs to go next. Prof. Rui Marques also took part in a session entitled “Garantizar lo Esencial: Estándares y Mecanismos Regulatorios para la Calidad y Sostenibilidad del Servicio de Agua”, a presentation discussing the enabling conditions required to guarantee essential water services, both in terms of quality and long-term sustainability.

RPG held the in-person training session, for more than 25 regulators, for the Standardization and Training Project on Alternative Solutions on March 26 and 27, 2025, in Aracaju/SE, Brazil. The course was part of a project developed by ABAR to support regulators in complying with Reference Standard No. 08/2024 issued by ANA, which is essential for the universalization of sanitation services in Brazil.
